Making a list is easy.
Here I am making a list of craft projects that I want to complete begin because it's easier than frying my brain and letting you in on my world. So I will at least make this positive as I will be without the computer until the weekend. This imposes a blog free few days and so I could actually make something instead of thinking about it and oohing and aaahing at other peoples wonders!
- make a recorder case for ds for school. He's starting to regret signing up for the class because his peers are teasing him. He loves music and making noise(tuneful or not) and the way things work in the school is that kids who can commit to recorder will be the ones next year who get first try at trumpet/saxophone etc. Besides that he does beam when he hears HIMSELF playing twinkle twinkle little star!! even though it's not so cool for an almost 8yr old boy! I played the recorder, clarinet and flute through school and have been trying to find 2 minutes in secret, to recapture my youth and try and work out how to play the Scooby Doo tune! Somehow I think anything Pirates of the Caribbean will be too hard! DS does adore the Grease soundtrack though...but i keep going off into Good king Wenceslas(sp!) and Greensleeves! Anyway I have found some wonderful skull and crossbones fabric on Ebay. I want it to be a lovely surprise for my strong minded boy. Lets hope he stays like that!
- Make a PE kit bag for DD with her name on it. She has a very unusual first name that I love but makes it impossible to buy anything personalised like mugs and keyrings. One day if we get to USA then I have a feeling that there would be lots of 'her' over there, and we'd have to commission a private plane to bring back all the personalised booty! I have planned to use an old dress of DD's and adapt it into a bag. Simple? I'm thinking sew the bottom of an A line dress and that'll be it! I will line it because I've seen polka dot fabric to kill for(!) and of course applique her name on it somewhere! What have I forgotten? If its that simple then how come I've put it off since the beginning of September!?!?!? Oh yes. Life gets in the way.
- This list is taking longer than I expected!! This is probably why I don't achieve as much as I want to because my lists are a job in themselves! LOSE THE LISTS! You can stop shouting at me now. I CAN HEAR YOU!
Move my bed and hoover under it.Dust on top of wardrobes.
Another reason why I should ditch lists is that I write things down and change my mind before the ink has had chance to dry! The dust can stay a while longer.
Oh. Head feeling scratchy..must go and find head lice comb. Must check for visitors.
Phew. No lice. DS had a medium sized ONE from school on Thursday. It wasn't HIS but it was on his head long enough to lay about 1/2 dozen eggs. SOD. I don't like using potions and lotions on their little heads so i must admit I pulled 3 hairs, with eggs on, out with tweezers! The boy didn't mind as he had a mouthful of chocolate for each hair yanked out. We don't like the lice but use their annual visits as a nature lesson! and with a white bath, it means that when we find any lice we line them up on the side of the bath and pop them to see whose make the most noise and whose have the most blood in! Are you still there? Are you revolted by my louse massacre? We make the most of bad situations here!
Are you scratching now from the mention of crawly beasties on heads!? HEAD LICE, HEAD LICE, HEAD LICE, now? Sorry, that's my dark side coming through.
I'm going to go and get a jug of Angel Delight(scratch scratch) and check the (scratch)dryer.
My son is always vaguely disappointed on nit comb night when I fail to find any. If he knew he could pop them it would be worse.
Thank you for sharing (I think...)
